Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.



Chris Bena
Chris is a commercial pilot and has been an elder at Wasilla Christian Church since 2011. He enjoys taking part in the sound and technical side of worship and is a part of our video Broadcast Production Team. He and his wife, Amber, have three children and enjoy visiting family in remote parts of Alaska. He is excited to be a part of a body of believers growing closer to Christ.


Kevin Munson
Kevin has been an elder at Wasilla Christian church for over twenty years and teaches the adult Sunday School class. He is also the administrator of the local health center and a licensed professional counselor. He and his wife, Nancy, have four grown children–some of whom attend WCC. His desire for our congregation is to see Colossians 1:9-10 become a reality.

Craig teaches the High School Sunday School class and coordinates our homeless outreach program, Family Promise. He’s been an elder at WCC for six years and has been acutely involved in our building and growth planning. He enjoys basketball, snow machining, and spending time with his three children and his wife, Debbie. He is the manager of multiple branches of a local bank.

Tom and his wife Shirley are long-time members of Wasilla Christian Church. One thing you can always count on is their sweet spirit and kind words of encouragement. Tom’s passion is for Prayer Ministry.
Todd & Lisa
Todd Short
Todd has been married to his wife Lisa for 21 years. Todd & Lisa began their married lives together while Todd served in United States Air Force and Lisa attended college. They are both thankful for friends in Missouri who openly shared Christ’s love and brought them to the Lord in 1994. After college, Todd began working is his present career as a cancer radiation therapist. Outside of work, Todd is raising 4 amazing kids in Alaska, his home for almost 30 years. He enjoys snowmobiling, hunting, hiking and spending time at his family cabin. Todd’s favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.
David Corneliussen
David is a lifelong Alaskan that enjoys as much of God’s creation as possible. He can be found hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with his wife Tracy and their three wonderful children when he is not teaching at a local elementary school. He is excited to see the great things the Lord has in the works for the growing body of believers at Wasilla Christian Church. His favorite scripture is Psalm 23 – The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
Norm Wagner
When the Air Force brought Norm, Sheryl, and their 2 boys to Alaska 25 years ago, they knew this would be their forever home. While working and raising their family in the Anchorage/Mat-Su area they enjoyed camping, hunting and 4-wheeling. Now, as “empty-nesters,” Norm and Sheryl have taken to the pavement on their Harley. In all situations Norm looks for opportunities to share the love of Christ and the Gospel message with others. He and Sheryl are truly blessed by their church family at Wasilla Christian and look forward to seeing all the awesome ways God will use them through the ministries of WCC.

Troy, a retired Air Force Major, and his wife, April, have 3 children and a grandson. He enjoys hunting, fishing and working on home improvement & mechanical projects. Along with his Deacon duties, you’ll find him volunteering in many areas of church ministry. He appreciates being a part of a family of believers who are working towards becoming more like Jesus.

Bill is a retired member of the Coast Guard.. Bill and his wife, Debby, have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. Bill loves spending time with family and getting out in the beautiful Alaskan outdoors. He loves being at WCC because it’s a family-oriented, friendly place where the gospel is taught and where the truth of God is revealed in a way that really makes a person consider what it means to walk with Christ.

Sonny was born and raised in the Alaskan wilderness and loves all the land has to offer including fishing, hiking, and camping. He is an electrician and helps with maintenance projects around the church. He is also involved with Men’s ministry. In his spare time, he likes to work on various projects around the house and go on adventures with his beautiful wife, Melinda. Sonny likes that our church and congregation are lead by God and the Holy Spirit. We are called according to His purpose and if God is with us, then who can be against us?

Kevin is a long-time member of Wasilla Christian Church who spends countless hours serving in various ministries. From preparing the gallons of coffee served every Sunday morning to working in and around the church building, Kevin gives selflessly of himself to God’s Kingdom work. The WCC family is so very blessed by Kevin and his wonderful wife, Gale.



Tony Morrison
Tony Morrison
Tony retired from the Air Force after 24 years of military service and is currently working as a medical laboratory technologist at a local hospital. He coordinates WCC’s Prison Ministry as well as serving the Lord in many other church related activities. He and his beloved wife Pam have been married for over 25 years and have three super terrific adult children, Sarah, Emily, and Sam. A favorite passion of Tony’s is being with family and friends enjoying all that God’s creation has to offer.
Brian Wille
The military brought Brian to Alaska in 1993 where he met his wife Carrie, a lifelong Alaskan. They have 3 children: Gaven, Bethany and Jordan. Brian is the owner of Wheaton Water Wells and Carrie works for the State. They enjoy spending time outdoors camping and ATV riding. Brian started developing a relationship with God about 10 years ago. However, it was 3 years ago, when he and his family started attending WCC that he realized he was leaving Jesus out of that relationship. As a Deacon, Brian is able to live out his favorite verse, James 2:14-26 – “…faith without works is useless…”
Jim Grimes
Jim retired in 2005 after 38 years in the Air Force/Air National Guard.  Jim and Belinda have been married 40 years and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. They all enjoy trips to their remote cabin on the Deshka River and the bounty that God provides from trout/salmon to bear/moose.  He loves his time at WCC volunteering and making new friends, and helping wherever and whenever needed.
Milton Barker
Backpacking first brought Milton and his wife of 22 years, Kelley, to Alaska in 2007. Originally from Alabama, they moved to the Butte community in 2009 without knowing anyone in the state. Through events that can only be attributed to God, they began worshipping with Wasilla Christian Church in 2012 and strive continually to be ambassadors for our Lord.
Milton is retired from the legal profession and Kelley is employed with MTA. They both enjoy the summers together traveling throughout the state for The Milepost, the bible of North Country travel since 1949.
