Pastors

Juanita and Joe
Joe Munday, Lead Pastor
Pastor Joe Munday has been pleased to serve at Wasilla Christian Church. Under his leadership WCC has experienced significant growth both numerically and spiritually. Pastor Joe has a Master’s degree in Practical Theology from American Christian Bible College. He has pastored churches in Tennessee and Florida and taught seminary in Louisiana. Before Bible college he spent four years in the Navy. Pastor Joe also spent seven years as a missionary in Greece. He is married to Juanita and has three grown sons. He is blessed to be able to serve alongside his middle son, Pete, WCC’s Worship Pastor. When Pastor Joe is not preparing a sermon or counseling, you may find him fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, or enjoying a round of golf. He considers it a blessing to serve this longstanding vibrant fellowship in Alaska and looks forward to God’s future plans of furthering the cause of Christ in the Mat-Su Valley and beyond.

Pete and Cora Hipper

Pete Munday, Worship Pastor
Growing up in the Church of Christ, with no instruments, Pete felt like a fish out of water. Music drew him in ways that he could never imagine. Consequently, he made his way to Los Angeles, where he spent time writing, recording, and touring. His career was off to a great start, but after performing over 400 live shows, Pete still felt something was lacking in his life. He began to seek out friendships of Christians, even once praying for God to send him a friend who could help steer him in the right direction. Matthew Schmidt, worship leader of Hollywood Presbyterian, was the answer to his prayer. Matt invited Pete to get involved with the worship band and soon Pete found himself following hard after God. He began leading worship, for the first time finding freedom to use his musical gifts for the glory of God. Since then, Pete has led worship with Broken Walls of Alaska, the Palmer Correctional Center, and various other worship venues. To Pete, the worship ministry is all about relationship. Our relationship with God overflows into our relationship with others. His unique blended style has been a blessing to the Wasilla Christian Church congregation.

Jason Daughtry, Associate Pastor
Pastor Jason did not grow up in a Christian home. Early on in life he lived a party lifestyle that was destructive to himself and others. As a young man in the Marines, Pastor Jason gave his life fully to Christ. Since then, Pastor Jason has not looked back to the life he once lived. He is married to his sweetheart Chelsie and they have three kids, Isaiah, Noah, and Trinity. Pastor Jason has a bachelors in Bible and Greek from Southern California Seminary, and a Masters of Theology in Pastoral Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary. Before God called Jason to Wasilla Christian Church he pastored The Dove Church in Southlake, Texas for 8 years, led small groups for 12 years, and taught bible classes from a Bachelors level all the way to high school. In his spare time you can find him running at the gym, reading, fishing, hunting, and playing with his children.

Vanessa Reinhardt, Office Assistant/Media Director
Vanessa has been a wife to her incredible husband, John, since 2002, and a home educator since 2008.  She grew up here in Alaska, both in
Anchorage and Fairbanks.  Her family moved away for awhile while John served in the Air Force, then moved back to make Alaska their permanent home after spending time in TN and DC/VA.  She and her family have been attending WCC since 2012, and she was given the privilege of joining the staff in 2016.  Her faith truly began to take root and thrive shortly after calling WCC their home church, an experience others have said they share as well.  She enjoys learning new things, hiking, fishing, and listening to people’s stories over coffee.  You can reach her any time by email.
